Anne Martell
Enjoyed flowers and flower arranging
Anne Martell, 90, of Sacramento and formerly of Lodi, died on Jan. 3. She was born Anne Kolb in 1917, in South Dakota.
Mrs. Martell was the eldest of her siblings and grew up on a Harney Lane dairy farm. She attended and received diplomas from Harmony Grove Elementary and Lodi High School. Anne was a resident of Lodi for 36 years and Morada for 46 years. She spent the last eight years with her daughter in Sacramento.
She was a member of the Waterloo-Morada Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary, the Morada-Davis PTA, a charter member of the Morada Art and Garden Club, and a life-long member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lodi. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, flower arranging and antiques. Other hobbies included sewing, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Martell, of Santa Rosa; daughter, Nina Johnson, of Sacramento; and sister, Rosella Anderson, of Rockford, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Martell; and sisters, Alvina Eisenbeis and Elsie Wagerman.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1540 W. Lodi Ave., Lodi, with Pastor Stan Niemi officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date at the harmony Grove Cemetery, Locke Road in Lockeford.
