Lodi High grad to make bid
Second Democratic candidate to make run for Nakanishi's 10th Assembly seat
Updated: Thursday, December 6, 2007 1:27 PM PST
A Lodi High School graduate has announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the 10th Assembly District seat held by Alan Nakanishi, R-Lodi.

Alyson L. Huber joins Jim Cook of Elk Grove as the two Democratic candidates on next year's primary ballot. There are also four Republican candidates, including Jack Sieglock of Lodi, vying for Nakanishi's seat.
Huber, who lives in El Dorado Hills, is an attorney specializing in business litigation and intellectual property law. After graduating from Lodi High, she attended San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton. She credits her national success on the debate team for receiving a scholarship to California State University, Chico.

After state budget cuts threatened to dismantle Chico State's speech and debate team, Huber transferred to Cornell University. She received her law degree from the University of California's Hastings College of the Law.
As a business lawyer, Huber said she understands the pressures facing businesses in California, and as a working mother she understands the pressures that families face every day.
She lives with her husband, Tim, and two of their four children. They have two children in college.
The 10th Assembly District includes most of the Lodi area, plus Rancho Cordova, El Dorado Hills, Amador County and part of Elk Grove.
