Tokay's Moore triple-trouble in Wildcat Classic

Accomplishment:Tokay High's Sylvonia Moore had a big opening week for the girls basketball team and was named to the all-tournament team for her performance in the Wildcat Classic. The senior guard had 16 points, 12 rebounds and six steals in a 45-42 victory over River City on Saturday in the third-place game of the Elk Grove tournament.

Moore had 21 points in a 59-54 loss to Monterey Trails on Friday and logged a triple-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals in a 55-27 win over Woodland in the first round.

Favorite sport:Basketball. "I love the game," said Moore, who's been playing hoops since she was 12. "I love dribbling the ball, running up and down the court and creating opportunities for others. The game calls my name."
Favorite athlete:Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade. "He's a team player," Moore said. "He works hard all the time. He's unstoppable."
Favorite subject:Math. "It's easy for me to understand," she said. "I like putting numbers together."
Favorite hobbies:Moore enjoys playing basketball, watching basketball and eating.
Would like to meet:NBA Hall of Famer Larry Bird. "He was an awesome player — a great 3-point shooter," Moore said. "I think real basketball was played back in the day."
Crowning achievement:"I've learned a lot more about the game since coming to high school," Moore said. "I've learned how to be a better team leader. I've learned how to take criticism and how to give it."
Plans:Moore wants to attend college and continue playing basketball.
