Melvin Weller
Retired security guard
Melvin Henry Weller, 76, of Lodi, died on Nov. 28. He was born on June 7, 1931, in Eureka, S.D.
Mr. Weller moved with his family to Lodi at the age of 15 and graduated from Lodi High School. He was employed as a security guard for commercial buildings before retiring.
His hobbies included bicycle and motorcycle riding, collecting bicycles and gardening. He was active in the LOEL Center, and a member of the Singles Club, the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed dancing, square-dancing, and animals.
Mr. Weller is survived by his daughters, Patricia Arechiga, of Stockton, and Maria Villanueba, of Lodi; step-daughter, Rose Flores, of Lodi; step-son, Henry Flores, of Denver; brother, Bruno Weller, of Stockton; sister, Helen Alder, of Reno, Nev.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave. Committal will immediately follow. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
