Pharmacy and EKG technology programs
California State University, Stanislaus is offering programs in pharmacy and EKG technology beginning in October.
• A comprehensive 50-hour pharmacy technology certificate program will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board's PTCB exam.
• A comprehensive 50-hour EKG technician certificate program will prepare students to function as EKG technicians and to take the American Society of Phlebotomy Technician exam and the Electrocardiograph Technician exam.

Yoga class

Special education meeting
The Family Resource Network is offering a special education meeting for parents on Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the center, 5250 Claremont Ave., Stockton. Topics will include an overview of relevant special education laws, strengthening advocacy skills, the rights of parents and their children with disabilities, developing an effective individual education program and effective communication with professionals. Diabetes education series
The Senior Center at Hutchins Street Square along with Lodi Memorial Hospital are offering a three-week diabetes education series beginning on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at 125 S. Hutchins St. Those who attend will learn the causes of diabetes, control through nutrition, blood sugar testing, exercise and personal care, complications and information about insulin and oral medications.
