On Wal-Mart applying to build a store in Galt:
"Keep Wal-Mart out of Galt! Or, at the very least, keep it out of our neighborhoods. We are dealing with enough crime already. Our property values are dropping because of the new high schools and the proposed movie theater." — Galt Mom
"Where were the protests when grocery stores added pharmacies, gardening departments, banking facilities, etc? If you don't like Wal-Mart the best thing you can do is not shop there." — American Capitalist
"Build it on the south end of town off (Highway) 99 and you'll have all those faithful Wal-Mart shoppers from Lodi there, too. Lodi loves Wal-Mart." — T & C
"Bringing in Wal-Mart will not only add to more traffic congestion but more crime. Lodi and Elk Grove are maybe only a 15-20 minute drive away from Galt. The flea market alone is a hassle just trying to get through town." — Another Mom in Galt
"I personally welcome Super Wal-Mart. I've lived here 12 years and have seen nothing new come here except Raleys and the shopping center. Why should we citizens have to drive to Elk Grove or Lodi just to clothe our kids? I vote for it and would even sign a petition to bring it here." — galt mom of 3
On a transient woman found dead in Lodi:
"April has gone to a place where her poetry will be read by all the angels. May her soul finally rest in peace." — WuzUp
"This makes me so sad. There has to be a way to help these people. I know that some are there by choice, but still they are human beings and need help to get back into a functioning part of society." — cn
"We all have family members with problems. It is really sad that these things happen. Sounds like she is now in a better place." — Delta Instructor
"'Transient'? Try drunks, drug users, bums. It's their why of life they choose, and it's the way they wish to die." — Mickey
