Lodi Police Department

In the 24 hours since 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Lodi Police Department handled 135 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers:

Tuesday

9:38 a.m.: Homeless people were smoking and setting up tents behind Lebec Court and Edgewood Drive.

12:21 p.m.: A man in blue jeans ditched a stolen car at Elm and Garfield streets and then began jumping fences as he fled the scene.

1:03 p.m.: Someone is regularly stealing from a vending machine at Busy Bee Laundry, 110 E. Elm St.

2:13 p.m.: After trying to break into a house in the 1400 block of Keagle Way, two people left in an older red Honda Prelude.

3:37 p.m.: The driver of a black Jaguar was passing cars on the double yellow line while traveling east on Kettleman Lane near Lower Sacramento Road.

4:06 p.m.: A 41-year-old Scarborough Drive man, who is a mental health patient, was threatening to commit suicide by vehicle accident.

4:59 p.m.: A juvenile had a knife and was trying to throw another juvenile into a Dumpster at Blakely Park, 1050 S. Stockton St.

5:13 p.m.: A female thought a male was watching her at Lakeshore Meadows, 2081 Sylvan Way.

7:05 p.m.: Police officers, firefighters, paramedics, animal control officers and a tow company were called to free a cat from a car engine at Lakewood Mall, 101 N. Ham Lane. The cat died.

7:29 p.m.: Unlicensed juveniles were driving a tan Ford Escort at Tokay Villa Apartments, 1720 S. Hutchins St.

8:54 p.m.: Youths were operating loud remote-control cars at the Skate Park, 1145 S. Ham Lane.

10:06 p.m.: A man pulled a knife on a male, robbing him of his bicycle at Chevron, 236 N. Ham Lane. The suspect, who had a shaved head and was wearing a black sports jersey with the number 77 on it, headed south.

Wednesday

2:44 a.m.: A woman in a black shirt was on the ambulance ramp at Lodi Memorial Hospital, 975 S. Fairmont Ave. She was arrested for public intoxication.

6:29 a.m.: Someone broke into K-9 Country Club, 236 E. Lodi Ave., and stole a cash box.

6:38 a.m.: A gray 1995 Honda Civic was stolen during the night in the 1000 block of West Tokay Street.

8:13 a.m.: Tokay Motors, 123 E. Pine St., was burglarized.

9:18 a.m.: Nobody was injured when a GrapeLine bus and a vehicle collided in the 500 block of West Lodi Avenue.

9:41 a.m.: Someone slashed tires in the 1000 block of Stafford Street.
