Quote in article was misplaced

Updated: Saturday, July 28, 2007 6:55 AM PDT

Our names are Tessa Fawver and Shelly Denigris. We are the new owners of The Elizabeth Bridal Salon.

On Wednesday, an article was published about the motorcycle rally being held in Downtown Lodi. Our quote was put in a place that lead to the assumption that we were not happy with the clientele the rally would bring Downtown.

That is absolutely false. We are in support of any activity that will bring people to downtown. Our problem is when the streets are closed all day. We have brides who are having to pick up their 25 pound gowns that morning and do not feel it is fair to them to have to walk four blocks to their car. We believe they should start the events being held in downtown later in the day and let the businesses have the mornings.

We have worked very hard over the past two years to build up the reputation of having friendly customer service and would hate to see all of our hard work ruined by the wrong placement of our quote. I apologize to anyone who read the article and felt as though we were judgmental of who comes into our store. Our goal has always been to offer great service to anyone that comes to visit our store.

" Typically we would say yes, but there are brides who get married on Sunday and do not want to pick up until the day before. Same goes with a evening wedding. They may not have a place to put their gown where it can't be viewed by the hubby to be. We like to accomodate how we can and we did notify our brides and appointment of the downtown event. "

" I'm asking this only for information but couldn't the brides pick up their dresses a day early or snag a chivalrous male in the family to help them? "
