Lodi Police Department

In the 24 hours since 9 a.m. Monday, the Lodi Police Department handled 174 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers:

Monday

9:05 a.m.: Property valued at more than $400 was stolen from inside a vehicle in the 800 block of West Locust Street.

9:35 a.m.: After stealing beer from Smart Foods, 610 W. Kettleman Lane, a ponytailed man headed east in a white Chevrolet truck.

9:54 a.m.: Someone was assaulted at Tokay High School, 1111 W. Century Blvd.

10 a.m.: A business owner on East Lodi Avenue was littering stereo wires in the street.

10:26 a.m.: More than a year after a Zinfandel Drive man's vehicle was stolen, the California Highway Patrol identified it as a vehicle that had been completely burned and was missing both license plates.

11:11 a.m.: Three male solicitors were taping advertisements to Birchwood Drive houses.

12:43 p.m.: Six weeks after residents in the 400 block of Flora Street got into an argument about a boat in the road, one of them was challenging a man to fight, apparently regarding the boat matter.

1:30 p.m.: Five juveniles had rocks and were chasing another juvenile at maple and Garfield streets.

3:47 p.m.: Three boys in a blue Honda were looking for a woman's son in the 200 block of Flora Street. They threw rocks at the house and then ran north.

3:59 p.m.: The ex-wife of an incarcerated man was taking his belongings from a residence in the 200 block of Daisy Avenue.

4:13 p.m.: A female stole items from her mother's West Locust Street home while the mother was hospitalized.

5:49 p.m.: Two women and a man were drinking in front of a residence in the 100 block of East Lockeford Street, where they did not belong. In the process, someone was arrested on an out-of-area warrant.

6:46 p.m.: Young children were playing with large metal objects near the drainage pipes at Salas Park, 2001 S. Stockton St.

8:03 p.m.: An infant was walking down the road near Flora and Garfield streets. The child, who turned out to be 2, had slipped out of a nearby back gate.

10:49 p.m.: The possibly drunken female driver of a damaged silver Ford Mustang was stumbling after she parked on Wellington Way. Officers determined she was not drunk, and learned she had hit a median and deflated a tire.

10:52 p.m.: After a male said he was going to stab a bail bondsman on Eureka Avenue, the bond agent revealed his concealed weapon in order to scare the man off. The man headed east.

Tuesday

12:10 a.m.: Five or six juveniles were playing loud music in a white truck in a parking lot at Beckman School, 2201 Scarborough Drive.

1:39 a.m.: Two people were involved in drugs in the 0-100 block of South Main Street.

2:469 a.m.: A man arrived home in the 600 block of West Locust Street to find the door open and the house "messed up." It had been burglarized.

3:28 a.m.: A female heard her blue 1983 Oldsmobile being driven away in the 300 block of Stanislaus Street but didn't see which way the thieves went.

3:54 a.m.: Someone parked two stolen jet skis in a dirt lot near Victor Road and Cluff Avenue, then drove away. It was not immediately confirmed if they were the same jet skis stolen a week earlier on South Mills Avenue.

5:18 a.m.: A black two-door 1991 Honda Accord was stolen during the night at Cherokee Place Apartments, 621 Hale Road.

7:20 a.m.: A 41-year-old man on South Lower Sacramento Road drank rubbing alcohol in a possible suicide attempt.

" I certainly hope the parents (or parent) of that two year old were cited and threatened with calling CPS to report their negligence. That is just inexcusable. "
