Lodi Police Department

In the 48 hours since 9 a.m. Tuesday, the Lodi Police Department handled 349 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers:

Tuesday

10:36 a.m.: After giving a bicycle to someone to paint near Lodi Avenue and Cherokee Lane, the painter was refusing to give it back.

11:20 a.m.: A 2-year-old child ran across Hutchins Street near Vine Street and no parents were present. An off-duty Lodi firefighter witnessed it and stopped.

1:31 p.m.: A suspicious, unoccupied vehicle was sitting in someone's driveway in the 0-100 block of North Lower Sacramento Road. In the process, someone was arrested on a local warrant.

2:18 p.m.: A 16-year-old Columbia Drive resident, who may have been under the influence of drugs, was threatening to kill his dad.

3:14 p.m.: A drunken 51-year-old woman in a hospital gown walked away from Lodi Memorial Hospital, 975 S. Fairmont Ave. She was later located, and 24 hours later the woman was drunk in the lobby of Lodi Hotel, 7 S. School St.

3:29 p.m.: Someone was throwing "fire balls" at a home in the 1000 block of Dartmoor Circle.

5:02 p.m.: Two males were dragging a female down Railroad Avenue near Cherokee Lane. Alcohol was involved.

5:14 p.m.: A dog was chained to a telephone pole in the 600 block of Daisy Avenue and was panting due to the heat.

6:12 p.m.: A man with latex gloves was inside a black Toyota pick-up truck in the parking lot of Farmers and Merchants Bank, 1020 W. Kettleman Lane.

7:20 p.m.: Three boys were selling CDs in the Wal-Mart parking lot, 2355 W. Kettleman Lane.

7:46 p.m.: A boy and his mother were selling guns and a man was selling drugs in the 400 block of East Elm Street.

8:37 p.m.: Someone was threatening to put sugar in a North Sacramento Street woman's gas tank.

11:13 p.m.: A drunken woman was touching people as she walked up and down Sacramento Street near Elm Street.

Wednesday

1:41 a.m.: A drunken man was standing in the middle of the drive-thru at McDonald's, 200 W. Lodi Ave.

9:58 a.m.: Someone moved a woman's porch swing the previous night in the 300 block of East Elm Street.

10:07 a.m.: Four or five people were fighting and throwing bicycles at each other at Sacramento Street and De Force Avenue.

10:39 a.m.: Someone took up two parking spaces in a parking lot in the 900 block of South Cherokee Lane.

12:10 p.m.: A man pushed a female out of a car at Sacramento and Elm streets, then continued on his way back to work.

2:18 p.m.: A child was locked inside a blue Ford Tempo in the 300 block of South Cherokee Lane.

2:24 p.m.: Someone stole a figurine from a front yard in the 100 block of Camino Real Drive.

2:42 p.m.: A boat was sitting in the middle of the road in the 400 block of Flora Street. Two hours later, people in the same block were arguing over boat ownership.

2:44 p.m.: Jewelry valued at more than $400 was stolen in the 300 block of North Pleasant Avenue.

7 p.m.: A home was burglarized in the 700 block of Delores Street.

7:45 p.m.: Someone in a tan van was holding a beer out the window in the 800 block of South Stockton Street.

9:40 p.m.: A tan and white pit bull killed a cat in the 200 block of Donner Drive.

Thursday

2:02 a.m.: A male was screaming in the middle of Lodi Avenue near Church Street.

4:28 a.m.: A live mariachi band was playing in an alley off the 800 block of South Cherokee Lane.

" Praise GOD that the little 2 yr old boy wasn't hit and killed by a passing car. Cars go way too fast on our streets. Thank God the local fireman was there to protect that child. Parents do not deserve to have children if they can't properly take care of them. And then a mother with her boy is selling guns on the street! Dear Lord, have mercy. I hope these boys are taken away from their incompetent mothers. "
