Lodi's Craig rowing in the accolades

Accomplishment:Lodi's Arielle Craig, a senior at St. Mary's High, is a standout on the Stockton Delta Blades rowing team. Craig is undefeated in singles and doubles rowing events this year, her most recent victory coming in the Delta Dash when she recorded a time of 8 minutes, 52 seconds.

Craig will join the UC Berkeley crew team next year and has a chance to eventually earn a scholarship there.
Family:Rhonda and Peter Craig, parents; two brothers.
Favorite sport:Crew. Second year. "I like the relationships you get with other teammates," said Craig, who's been rowing for two years. "The competitiveness and the teamwork you need with it."
Favorite athlete:Carie Graves, the head coach of the University of Texas rowing team. "I've talked to her on the phone while I was being recruited and learned a lot about her from my other crew friends that are off at college," Craig said. "She is a three-time U.S. Olympic rower and Olympic gold medalist."
Favorite subject:Math and science. "There's nothing you can do without practical math and science on an everyday basis," she said.
Favorite hobbies:Craig likes going to In 'n Out and Chipotle for team dinners.
Would like to meet:Albert Einstein.
Crowning achievement:Setting a personal-best time in her last race.
Plans:Craig plans to major in sports medicine or physical therapy before going to medical school.
