On possible changes to a taco truck ordinance:
"I would love to see the health department inspect their cooking oil records and oil quality. I will bet they use the poorest trans fat cooking oil, and that they that clogs arteries and that the oil is used way past the time to change it! With no water hook up, does anyone think the water they use all day is fresh?" — I would love...
"Leave the taco wagons alone. Everyone knows what they are going to get when they order from the wagons. To hold the wagons to the same standard as 'brick and mortar' restaurants is unreasonable. The food is inexpensive, which is why the patrons favor the wagons." — Carnitas
"These operations have exceeded their original intent. A one time source of food for industrial zones has now become moving restaurants. Parking lots are being utilized as restaurant pads. Time for specific places of operations. Time for specific hours." — Moving vs. fixed?
"If Starbucks is going to be on every single street corner, let the taco trucks stay where they are. The trucks don't hurt any business, they are providing something that people like, which is tasty food at a cheap price." — J Bonk
On a Christian prayer event not attended by other religions:
"It sure is unfortunate that all faiths can't unite and pray as one in Lodi. I don't see erasure of racial and religious division until this happens. Even though we may have differences if we believe in God, Allah, Buddha, etc. we can all pray together as a group. I don't think God would mind!" — Joe Silva, Sr.
"The national day of prayer was declared by the Continental Congress in 1775 and made formal with Senate bill S1378 in 1987. It calls on all people of all faiths to pray for the nation. The Christians just happen to be doing this. Perhaps others should take the same initiative and honor this 'national' day as well." — MD
