McCroskey leads Flames
Jordan McCroskey threw a five-inning one-hit shutout as the Lodi High baseball team cruised to a 10-0 victory over host Stagg on Friday night. The senior struck out three and walked one for the Flames (6-1).
Andrew Koepplin went 2-for-2 at the plate, while Peter Matlock and Nick Pieracci each added two-run doubles. McCroskey and Bryce Williams had a single apiece.

Folsom Tournament
The Galt Lady Warriors (3-5) went 1-2 at the Saturday tournament. In the opener, Galt topped McClatchy 10-0 behind Elise Fry's five-inning two-hit shutout. Fry tallied five strikeouts. Bailie Diehl went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while Kim Briggs was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and three RBIS.
In the second game, Tokay beat Galt 8-0, as Sam Poteet and Katie Fuhrman combined on a two-hit shutout. Michelle Poteet had a double and two RBIs for Tokay.
Diehl went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Warriors in their 5-1 loss to Pleasant Grove.
12-and-under
The Lodi Lady Lightning won the U.S.S.S.A. World Series qualifier at Manteca Field of Dreams, going 6-0 over the weekend. The Lady Lightning won 6-1 over the Tracy Mystique, 12-5 over the Nevada Lightning, 10-8 against the East County Hotshots, 3-0 over Foothill Gold, 11-2 over the Tracy Liberty and 6-3 against the Live Oak Drop Zone in the championship game.
The players participating were Shelby Arnette, Melissa Brum, Stephanie Magana, Brooke Malcolm, Emily Medrano, Maryanne Peluso, Kimberly Rau, Daniella Ruiz, Jenica Ruiz, Ally Weaver and Sierra Zider. The coaches were Greg Malcolm, Joe Brum and Gabe Ruiz.
