On the owners of Porfi's retiring after 31 years at the restaurant:

"I have been eating at Porfi's for over 25 years and have loved every meal. Your potato skins are to die for. Your hospitality will be missed very much. God bless and good luck in all of life." — David

"I actually got teary as I read this article. My family has called Porfi's our favorite for three generations. We enjoyed many birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations there. Good bye and good luck!" — Sad to see

On seagulls flocking to Galt and Lodi high schools:

"Hmm, the seagulls like the dump and the high school campus. Get a clue students. Quit turning your campus into a dump. If there is no trash on the ground, they will not come." — sam

"Sam... Maybe the school owes it to them to provide a professional car detailing service while they're in class. They might as well throw in a free valet service too so they don't have to walk so far to pick up their car." — stkngirl19

On Lodi Memorial Hospital's expansion plans:

"We'll be patient with some reasonable noise and interruptions. This is a great thing for the greater Lodi area and I'm so glad our local medical facility will get even better." — LMH neighbor
