Locals have big day in marathon
Wheelchair racer Rodger Robinson of Lodi finished first in his division in the 24th Annual California International Marathon on Sunday in Sacramento.
Robinson finished in a time of 1 hour, 36.20 seconds.
Former Lodi High standout Sean Marzolf, 23, finished 53rd overall with a time of 2:43.08. Marzolf's dad, Myron, also competed, and finished the race in a time of 4:27.0. Galt's Mark Lantz, 41, placed 86th with a time of 2:48.35.
A group of Lodi teachers, Connie Marion, Jud Atwater, Jeff Palmquist and Shawn Allen, competed in the relay and finished with a time of 3:16.0.
Sixteen Lodi volleyball players also competed in the marathon. They were Rebecca Turner, Shantel Dickerson, Gina Luiz, Erin Desnayer, Jen Gee, Kendall Patterson, Macy Boschee, Amanda Carter, Lauren Weltzin, Bryce Williams, Paige Budiselich, Emily McConahey, Crystal Prag, Faith Thomas, Sarah Donald and Jenae Reich.

Kyle Larabee had eight points but Lodi (3-1) lost in the Stagg Tournament championship game. Steve Cockrum scored five, Pat Armstrong had four, Kyle Suess and Max Edson each had three and Thomas Miller added two.

Stagg 57, Tokay 51
Michael Hernandez had 25 points to lead the Tigers in the Bear Creek Tournament. Lucas Schallberger scored eight for Tokay (2-3), Kyle Sasaki had seven, Craig Malsam added five and Eric Flores and Curtis Yamaka had three apiece.

Lodi 34, East Union 24
Halei Warren had 11 points and eight rebounds and Maureen Clemons had eight points and four steals as Lodi (3-0) won the East Union Tournament championship game.
Jenae Reich had five points and seven rebounds, Paige Budiselich had six points and Nickole Martinez and Rebecca Turner each scored two.
Budiselich was named the tourney MVP and Warren made the all-tourney team.
Tokay 42, Tracy 19
Kelsey McCarty had 22 points and was named the tourney MVP after leading the Tigers over host Tracy in the Green and Gold Tournament title game.
Rhayza Guerzo had six points, Ashley Poutre, Katie Woznick and Nicole Gutierrez each had four and Cassandra Perez added two.
Gutierrez was named to the all-tourney team.

Goaltender Cam Ellsworth made 16 saves for his fifth career shutout and first with the Stockton Thunder (13-1-4, 28 points), and Stephen Slonina scored a goal and assist as the Thunder posted a 2-0 victory over the Utah Grizzlies on Sunday night at Stockton Arena.
