Ponderosa 43, Galt 22

The Bruins pulled away in the second half for a victory over the visiting Warriors (1-6, 0-2 Sierra Valley Conference).

The game was tied 15-15 at halftime, but Galt couldn't slow down Ponderosa in the second half.

Galt QB Cole Rasmussen passed for over 200 yards and WR Nimrod Piggee had over 100 yards receiving and two TDs.

Freshmen-Sophomores
Lincoln 34, Lodi 28

Mike Toon caught TD passes of 20 and 15 yards and also scored on a 10-yard run in Lodi's loss to Lincoln at the Grape Bowl.

Patrick Armstrong tossed two TD passes and also scored on a 1-yard run for the Flames (1-1 San Joaquin Athletic Association).

Chad Grimsley had an interception for the Flames.

Tokay 6, St. Mary's 0

Sam Gonzalez had two goals and an assist to lead Tokay High's varsity boys soccer team to a victory over visiting St. Mary's.

Ommar Sublaban added a goal and an assist for the Tigers (7-5-1 Tri-City Athletic League), who came into the day in third place. Only the top two teams advance to the playoffs.

Aldo Montijo, Javier Cristerna and Kaj Jewell scored for the Tigers and Josue Razo, Nathaniel Napier and Daniel Santoyo each had an assist. Razo also had four saves in the net.

The Tigers play at West on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. before closing out the regular season at Stagg on Friday.

California Cougars

The Cougars agreed to terms with goalkeeper Dominic Jakubek, midfielder Ryan Hall and defender John Ball on Friday, the team announced.

Jakubek, 26, an MISL rookie last season, started seven games for the Cougars and finished with a 5-2 record. Jakubek, a former Lodi High standout, was the only rookie to be named MISL Player of the Month last season.

The Cougars will play the Estadio Azteca in an exhibition match on Sunday at noon at the team's training site in Sacramento, 1960 Railroad Drive. Admission is free.

DeLong Memorial Tournament

Tokay went 2-0 on the first day of the tourney, which is being held at Tokay, Johansen and Pitman high schools.

The Tigers played at their home pool on Friday and opened with an 11-0 win over Modesto.

Kyle Luke, Alex Drake and Kristzian Kovacs each had three goals and Tanner Hickinbotham and Zack Tuivatuki each had one. Dustin Leale had eight saves in the net.

Kovacs scored four times and Hickinbotham added three goals in Tokay's 12-6 win over Clovis East.

Tuitavuki had two goals and Drake, Chris Macko and Tyler Thalken each had one. Leale had 10 saves.

Tokay plays Rio Americano today at 9:30 a.m. at Pitman High School.

Lodi Junior Flames Black

The Flames (5-1) defeated the Calvary Panthers 20-6 last Saturday.

On defense, safety Joey Armstrong intercepted a pass and had tackles and Nick Brown had seven tackles and an interception. Aric Ybarra and Luke Simon both had seven tackles and a sack, Kirk Sasaki had two sacks and Luke Sackschewsky added one.

Offensively, Armstrong had five catches for 84 yards and 2 TDs and Collin Rhoads threw for two TDs and also ran seven times for 67 yards and a TD.

Junior Varsity

Lodi defeated the Calvary Panthers 20-0. Logan Maloney had 18 carries for 210 yards and all three TDs.

On defense, Roman Butler had 2 1/2 sacks and John Knerl had five tackles. Austin Vickers added an interception.

Rookies

The Flames won their fourth straight in a 40-6 win over Calvary.

Daniel Celiz, who recorded 10 tackles, led the defensive charge. Justin Kasper had six tackles.

Offensively, David Simon carried the ball seven times for 150 yards and three TDs, including a 70-yard scoring run. Chance Trammel had 10 carries for 81 yards and a TD while Michael Ybarra had a 25-yard TD catch. Alex Hunt threw a TD pass and Tanner Haislip added 40 yards rushing and a TD.

Starts

The Flames defeated the Panthers 19-13. Cameron Schubert, Brennan Berninger, Austin Mason and Ryder Morrison had strong games for the Flames.

Cycling
Giro d'Vino Bicycle Tour

The Delta Velo Cycling and the Stockton Bicycle Club are hosting the Eighth Annual Giro d'Vino Bicycle Tour on Nov. 5 at Michael David Vineyard on Highway 12. The event includes three tours of the Lodi Wine Country.

The Grand Tour will be held at 9 a.m. and will feature long loops through vineyards and past private wineries. The Tour will be held at 9:30 a.m. and will stop at three different wineries. The Prelude will be held at 10:30 a.m. and is a short loop along quiet country roads to another nearby winery.

The cost is $35 for The Grand Tour and The Tour and $30 for The Prelude.
