Shame on those who steal political signs

Updated: Thursday, October 5, 2006 6:48 AM PDT

This is happening in Galt — I can't believe people's political signs are being stolen, especially out of front yards where the residents have given permission to these candidates to display their signs.

This is stealing as well as trespassing. Another thing is one candidate's signs are being stolen from these places while other candidate's signs are being left alone at the same location (pretty obvious someone must be intimidated by this candidate.) I find this to be despicable and down right sleazy.

These people are running for offices they are passionate about and if someone has a problem, they should face these candidates face to face with their opinions. I know most candidates have open lines of communication so the public can speak with them.

So I have to ask these thieves or thief, do you honestly think that by stealing political signs that these candidates won't be able to get their messages out? Show your face if you disagree. Don't go sneaking around in the middle of the night making yourself a thief. You shouldn't have to stoop so low.

This is a shameful behavior and when you are caught you will be exposed for the thief that you are. I sure hope you're not running for anything. Trespassing and stealing are crimes. Shame on you.

" I have had my signs knocked down and also stolen. Someone stole a "No on G" sign on my front yard a few days ago. 'Course, drunk drivers and kids on BMX bikes also trespass on my lawn...I guess that's what I get for living on a busy street in "liveable, loveable Lodi". "

" Leonard, even worse, someone stuck a Hitchcock sign in my yard. If I catch that fat guy I saw running down the street I would have given him a piece of my mind. "

" I don't agree with any opinion you have but that's a great post. Give me your address, I've got some more signs for you. I think I can find an old Newt Gingrich sign. And I don't want any Jesse Jackson signs in return. "
