Lodi woman wins more than $475,000 at Jackson casino
Updated: Wednesday, November 10, 2004 8:00 AM PST
Zeta Salwasser, of Lodi, hit the jackpot on Sunday. Her Wheel of Fortune nickel slot machine yielded more than just a few nickels: After two spins, she won $475,957 at Jackson Rancheria Indian Casino.
This was a MegaJackpot.
Just moments earlier, Salwasser had won $200 on another machine. With that money, she was going to take her family out for a fun time in Reno, Nev.
But with this jackpot, "I will pay off my house and put the rest into my retirement fund after I give Uncle Sam his share," she said.
She is a technical salesperson for a glass company and is five years away from retirement. She goes to Jackson Rancheria about every other Sunday. She doesn't normally play Wheel of Fortune machines because they're usually full, but on Sunday, one opened up, and she took the opportunity. She put in $20, and two spins later, she won the MegaJackpot.
The most she's won before while gambling is $6,000. She and her family will go to Reno, Nev., during Christmas and will have a little extra money to spend, she said.
