Students from area place well in contest

Students from all three Lodi Unified School District high schools competed in the annual Engineer and Technology Day at Delta College in Stockton.

LUSD students won the following awards at the competition:

Tokay High School

• Sophomore Miguel Hernandez placed first in advanced mechanical drafting.

• Freshman Juanita Chench placed first in introduction to mechanical drafting.

• Junior Ryan Laforteza placed third In architectural board drafting. Sophomore Kishan Patel placed first.

• Senior Kevin Foreman placed fourth in architecture computer aided drafting.

Lodi High School

• Sophomore Calvin Patel placed fifth in introductory drafting "A."

• Juniors Joe Donati, Robert McLane and Jeremy Somera placed first, second, and fifth, respectively in introductory drafting "B."

• Sophomore Andrew Conley placed third in technical drafting, manual.

• Senior Ryan Hoff placed first in technical drafting, computer aided drafting. Senior Danny Miladinovich placed fourth.

• Juniors Sarah Darsie and Gino Boccia and senior Matt Recker placed second, fifth, and fourth respectively in architectural drafting, cad.

• Seniors Cullen Riggs, Ryan Sani and Joshua Hines placed first, third and fifth respectively.

Bear Creek High School

• Sophomore Alex Suares placed third in introductory drafting "A." He also took second place in the Egg Launcher Design competition.

• Sophomore Peter Wei placed fifth in technical drafting cad.

• A team of sophomores -- Jonathan Bruns, Cynric Cho and Peter Wei -- took first place in Egg Launcher Design.

• A team of freshman -- Chris Hopson, Nick Fuentes and Steve Pham -- took fourth place in Egg Launcher Design.
