Hulda Seibel
Hulda Mae Seibel, 87, of Lodi, died Dec. 18 of natural causes in a local convalescent hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born Hulda Mae Volkman on Jan. 12, 1916, in Tuttle, N.D.
Mrs. Seibel married Louis Lloyd Seibel in 1934, and the couple moved to Lodi in 1937. They purchased a ranch in the Lockeford area in 1948. In 1954, they started a chicken and egg business and raised as many as 10,000 laying hens and sold eggs to Nulaid Egg Co. She retired in 1968 when they sold the ranch and moved to Lodi.
She was a member of Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed being a homemaker, traveling, camping, reading and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Jack Seibel, of Sacramento, and Louis Seibel, of Pittsburgh; daughters, Sharon Leland, of Stockton, and Barbara Reiman, of Lodi; brother, Roy Volkman, of Arkansas; sister, Leona Corrington, of Lodi; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis L. Seibel on Jan. 24, 2003; sisters, Violet McLean and Esther Cleveland; brothers, Charles "Buster" Volkman and Conrad Volkman; and two grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Lodi Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Francis Ruddle, of Lockeford Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Lodi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
