Sanborn Chevrolet will host the Nascar "Thunder Tour" which is scheduled to storm through Lodi on Friday and Saturday.

This free, promotional event will provide an opportunity for the public to view exhibits celebrating the thrill of stock car racing.

The tour will feature racing games, engine displays and a Chevrolet racing heritage exhibit. Visitors will have the chance to have their picture taken with the No. 24 race-modified Monte Carlo driven by Jeff Gordon or Kevin Harvick's No. 29 car. A special event giveaways is planned as well.

"It's all about Nascar-it will be great for race fans," said Sanborn's general manager Dennis Calton.

The Sanborn Chevrolet dealership at 1210 S. Cherokee Lane recently remodeled and expanded its showroom floor as well as adding new platform displays to the lot.

This story was updated at 4:45 p.m. May 2, 2002, to correct the numbers of Gordon's and Harvick's cars.
