Tigers rout Bruins

Tokay High's junior varsity boys' soccer team defeated Bear Creek on Wednesday, 5-1.

Joab Estrada had two goals for Tokay and Nick Errecalde, Mike Vanatti and Charlie VanSicklin each added a goal.

Aaron Abood and Peter Hernandez added assists for Tokay and Danny Valencia, Chris Oddo and Ricard Lemus were praised for their play.

Tokay runners sweep meet

Tokay High's cross country team swept a three-way meet against Edison and Franklin on Wednesday.

The Tigers' Jacob Ackerman was the varsity boys' top runner, placing second with a time of 18 minutes, nine seconds. Also placing for Tokay was Omar Parra, Ricardo Pubill, Neto Urias and Raul Garcia.

Tokay's Mary Castelanelli was the winner in the varsity girls' race, finishing in 23:41. Other Tokay runners placing were Rachel Coward, MaryBeth Link, Carly Casey and Marisa Hudlin.

In the soph-frosh boys' race, Tokay's John Alejo was first with a time of 12:47. Also placing for Tokay was Zachery Ryan, Josh Shaver, Chris McCarty and Edgar Reyes.

Terra Fraser of Tokay was the winner in the girls' soph-frosh race with a time of 14:56. Hannah Grundman, Rachelle Atherton, Celeste Quinata and Jessica Penney also placed for Tokay.

Tokay soccer edges Bruins

Anthony Eberspecher scored two goals to lead Tokay High's varsity boys' soccer over Bear Creek on Wednesday, 2-1.

Matt Burgess added an assist for the Tigers and Brian Campbell had eight saves.

Flames burn Edison

Lodi High's varsity boys' soccer team shut out Edison on Wednesday, 3-0.

Patrick Ianni, Juan Juarez and Wes Stafford each scored a goal for Lodi (7-1, 3-0). John Felde and Pete Mullenbach each had an assist for the Flames.

Brian Weist and Nick Santoyo combined for the shutout.

Lodi's Omar Flores, Dustin Lewis, Diego Muldanado and Jose Mendoza were praised for their play.

Flames win in a shootout

Lodi High's junior varsity boys' soccer team outscored Edison on Wednesday, 6-4.

Jeff Pepper had three goals for Lodi and Armando Casillas, Ross Ewing and Mario Medina each had one.

Medina, Kyle Pitchford and Alfredo Renteria each had an assist for the Tigers, and Marcus Souza and Nick Loya were praised for their play.

Lodi spikes Edison

Lodi High's varsity volleyball team won in straight sets over Edison on Wednesday, 15-2, 15-1, 15-0.

Trisha Hilder led the Flames with 18 assists, two kills and three digs. Jori Andrus had 10 kills and two blocks for Lodi, Sara Butler added five assists and two kills, Shelby Gribayedoff had four kills and two digs and J.J. Bowling added four kills.

Flames win in three

Lodi High's junior varsity girls' volleyball team defeated Edison on Wednesday, 12-15, 17-15, 15-4.

Monica Barba led the Flames with nine assists, four aces and three kills. Brianna Woodyard had five kills and three blocks for Lodi and Vanessa Hall added five blocks and three aces.

Freshmen team picks up win

Katie Raymond had four aces, two digs and two kills to lead Lodi High's freshmen girls' volleyball team past Edison on Wednesday night.

Mara Matlock added three digs and two blocks for Lodi, Megan Ledbetter had five assists and Carolyn Kirsten had two kills.

Lodi golf team outswings Rams

Lodi High's girls' golf team defeated St. Mary's, 146-182, Wednesday at Woodbridge.

Megan Schultz led the Flames with a round of 43 on the par-38 course. Kelly Cronin fired a 50, Marisa Manna shot a 53 and Sarah Van Exel stroked a 55.

Lincoln runners edge Flames

Lodi High's soph-frosh girls' cross country squad was the only Flames' team to win against Lincoln on Wednesday.

In varsity boys' action, Lodi's Sean Marzolf was first with a time of 17 minutes, 20 seconds. Also placing for Lodi was Ben Wagner, Chris Galindo, Justin Travnicek and Gerardo Ochoa.

Brittany Ellers was the top runner for Lodi in the varsity girls' race, placing third with a time of 23:43. Rachel Meath, Julia Tyack, Caroline Garrett and Emma Fulton also placed for Lodi.
