On March 10, the News-Sentinel ran an article on Krispy Kreme doughnuts. In the article, you wrote about how certain people just love these doughnuts. You also included a listing of local doughnuts shops. However, you left out Village Donut!

How could you?

It was a slap in the face of every doughnut lover here in Lodi.

Anyone serious about good doughnut cuisine knows that Village Donut on Ham Lane near Lockeford Street is one of the best doughnut shops in Lodi. This shop is so good it closes each day by noon because it is sold out.

Such shoddy journalism cannot be encouraged by passively letting the article go by without comment. This is a wake-up call to all doughnut lovers in Lodi.

We have been slighted, shamed, not taken seriously. I say we mount a protest at the doors of the Lodi News-Sentinel now!

I’ll bring the doughnuts.

By the way, Krispy Kreme has nothing on a good hot doughnut right out of the boiling oil from J&D Donuts around midnight — and they’re open 24 hours.
