With cooler weather coming, here’s how to keep your garden green and growing

While the season may conjure up images of terrible weather, ice, barren branches and a complete lack of colors apart from brown and white, there’s no reason that has to apply to your Lodi area garden.

To get an idea of what local gardeners might be able to do to protect their gardens from the winter and perhaps help them thrive, we talked to Vern Weigum, owner of Weigum’s Lodi Nursery, and Fred Hoffman, garden columnist for the News-Sentinel and the host of the Sacramento radio shows “KFBK Garden Show” on Newstalk 1530 KFBK and “Get Growing” on Talk 1650 KSTE.
