CORRECTION

Modesto Christian's boys basketball team is ineligible to play in a higher division during the playoffs.

For a team with a smaller enrollment to move up, it must play in a league in a higher division during the regular season. The Crusaders, whose enrollment size is that of a Division V school, can't play in a higher division during the postseason because of their independent status (they don't play in a league in a higher division).

The school, which won the last two Division I titles, did not elect to move down this season as stated in a story Monday.

This story was updated at 8:55 a.m. March 7, 2003, to correct a reference to Albert Monte's statistics in the Lodi Flames junior varsity baseball game.
