Curb immigration
So Lodi is upset about its recent increase in burglaries?
We haven't seen anything yet. As long as America continues to
let its population increase relentlessly through both legal and
illegal immigration, crime will increase as well.
The Arizona Republic, in an article dated Aug. 8, 1999, stated
that "burglaries in the San Diego area alone have reached some
7,000 a year." (These are only the reported ones.) It went on to
say that the San Diego Police Department wants to stop
investigating them altogether.
We have brought the problem upon ourselves, and it is long past
time to make severe changes in our policies. An effective screening
process was given up years ago when the security conscious
McCarren-Walter Immigration Act was overturned under the prodding
of liberals, including Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., and we've been
paying heavily ever since.
Contact your members of Congress to ask them for:
1. More funding and upgrading of procedures of the Immigration
and Naturalization Service.
2. Tougher restrictions on immigration, both legal and
illegal.
3. Required computer cross checking of all student visas with
the INS by all colleges and universities.
Lodi is no longer the pleasant little town it used to be and it
is past time we realize it.
