The Delta Chapter of the American Ex-Prisoners of War and its members to date have donated $9,000 to the Lodi Area Veterans Plaza Foundation.

Some individuals in the group have given $1,000 each. A payment to repay the city for the $450,000 loan to build the memorial was recently presented to the City Council in the amount of $10,000. Note that the amount was almost totally donated by former prisoners of war and their families.

How about more support from others in our community, not just veterans? Because of our veterans, we, and all of you, live in this free country. Some of our veterans paid the ultimate sacrifice by giving their lives. Let us all sacrifice a little to pay for this memorial that honors them and all past, present and future veterans and not pass the entire remaining debt on to our future generations.

Contributions may be sent to the Lodi Area Veterans Plaza Foundation, c/o Cynthia Haynes, City of Lodi, P.O. Box 3006, Lodi, CA 95241-1910.
