Cool conditions today have replaced the summer-like warmth of the weekend in the Lodi area.

Today’s forecast high of 66 is a sharp contrast to Saturday’s high of 86. Sunday’s high was 82. The normal high temperature for this time of year is 72.

Many Lodians were outside on the weekend enjoying the warmth and sun.

“On a hot day, we mainly just take the kids to the park and make the best of it,” Carlos Rodriguez said.

Like many others, Rodriguez found solace from the sun at Lodi Lake Park, a recreational haven for hot weekends.

Although swimming in the lake is restricted this time of year, the canopy of trees and gentle breeze off the water is enough to appease those looking for a shady escape.

“This is my favorite place,” Vi Riggle said. “You can’t improve perfection, and Lodi Lake is perfect.”

The downward trend in daytime temperatures will continue until Wednesday’s predicted high of a chilly 61 before returning to near-normal levels Thursday and Friday.
