In response to Trista Aquino's letter, I guess we are in a heap of trouble, looking at it from her viewpoint.

However, I'm sure most reading the article got my drift -- which is, we collectively should not be so paranoid about being scrutinized if we have nothing to hide.

On a community level, I feel relatively safe with our Lodi Police Department. However, that does not mean I will let my guard down to possibilities.

I might not be as confident if I lived in, say, New York City or San Francisco.

I agree it is a fact that terrorists are embedded locally and nationwide and we need to be diligent.

In addition, I agree terrorists can be one's own neighbor, newspaper delivery person, grocery clerk, mail person, doctor, etc.

Does that we mean we live in fear?

Not me.

My whole point: Let's cooperate with the authorities to deter what happened in London in every way we can. I pray to God it doesn't happen, but if it does, we will go on from there.
