Recently, I read advertisements from the two incumbents in the Lodi City Council election indicating that the council has reduced city debt. According to the facts, I find these assertions fascinating.

Fact: The city's General Fund Debt has increased from $5 million in 1996 to $14 million in 1999.

Fact: The city's General Fund Debt is estimated to increase to $34 million in 2001. A decision made by the current City Council.

I urge you to ignore the false information being presented by the incumbent candidates and to make a change on the City Council.

On Tuesday, vote Bob Johnson for Lodi City Council. He will bring honest fiscal responsibility to our city.

DeEtte Goni, Lodi
