Tokay water polo sinks Franklin
Tokay High's varsity boys' water polo team upended Franklin High, 11-6, in the Tigers' San Joaquin Athletic Association opener on Tuesday.
Rod Gaines scored three goals, Brett Diede and Sean Dryden both tallied two, and Ben Kralj, Taylor Broughton, Nate Varash and Kyle Slater each added one.
Tokay girls water polo cruise to win
Tokay High's varsity girls' water polo team cruised to a 19-3 win Tuesday over Franklin High.
Angela Wald, Katie Goldhahn and Melissa Finn each scored three goals, Nina Hernandez and Kara Cockerill both fired two, and Steph Edgerly, Megan Fishbein, Kerri Fisch, Nicole Wol and Morgan Haas each added one.
Goalies Lindsay MacDonald and Stacey Liccardi had nine and seven saves, respectively.
Lodi water polo thumps Bear Creek
Lodi High's varsity boys' water polo team thumped Bear Creek High on Tuesday, 13-5.
Dan Werner scored four goals, Chris Norton and Darrel Schulz both tallied three, and Scott Lauchland, Aaron Johnson and Kyle Jorgensen each added one. Goalie Steve Swofford had eight saves.
Lodi girls' water polo tops Bruins
Lodi High's varsity girls' water polo team topped the Bear Creek High Bruins on Tuesday, 17-5.
Brooke Eisner scored four goals, Heather Rempfer, Kim Stevens and Stacy Werner each tallied three, Penelope Peckham sank two, and Morgan Diehl and Gwen Van Steenberge both added one. Goalies Sharon Culbertson and Megan Christy had five and four saves, respectively.
Monday, Lodi lost to St. Francis High, 7-5. Eisner scored two goals and Stevens, Van Steenberge and Rempfer each added one. Christy had 13 saves.
Galt golf falls
Galt High's girls' golf team fell to Oak Ridge High on Tuesday, 134-138.
Amanda Riley shot a 42 on the par-30 El Dorado hills links, Jennifer Van Dyke carded 44, and Janis Valenzuela added 52.
Elliot spikes Stockton Christian
Jim Elliot Christian High's girls' volleyball team spiked Stockton Christian High, 15-2, 15-1, 15-0, in Tuesday's league opener.
Tracy Lanznester served 13 aces as well as all 15 points in the final game. Sarah Buhr had four aces and six kills, and Carissa Buchmiller had five aces and 12 assists.
Tokay tennis smashes Edison
Tokay High's girls' tennis team shut out Edison on Tuesday, 5-0, to improve to 2-0 in league play.
In singles play, the Tigers' Erica Kelly defeated Anushri Osa 6-1, 6-0, Tokay's Shirley Fong knocked off Andrea Canauosio 6-2, 6-0 and the Tigers' Amber Abdullah skunked Kim Casivit 6-0, 6-0.
The Tigers also swept doubles play, with Courtney Rodacker and Laura Davis winning easily over Natasha Millare and Kristina Ordonia 6-2, 6-3 and Amy Ishihara and Karin Clair defeating Hetty Uncinao and Christina San Juan 6-2, 6-3.
Flames win in straight sets
Lodi High's freshmen girls' volleyball team knocked off Elk Grove in straight sets on Tuesday 15-0, 15-13.
Katie Raymond had three kills, two aces and two digs for the Flames, Carolyn Kirsten had two kills and an ace, Megan Ledbetter had four assists and two aces, Danielle Alberg had one kill and one dig, Megan McCarty had two digs and an ace and Laura Matlock recorded two digs and a block.
Lodi JV spikers win consolation
Lodi High's jayvee girls' volleyball team won the consolation title of the Florin Tournament this past weekend.
Vanessa Hall at 13 kills, two aces, six digs and one block, Breanna Woodyard had 11 kills and three blocks, and Rachael Anema had eight kills, seven aces and six digs.
Flames win in five games
Lodi High's varsity girls' volleyball team won in a marathon five-game match on Tuesday, defeating Elk Grove 15-7, 12-15, 15-11, 13-15, 15-12.
Ashley Harmon led the Flames with 49 assists, two kills, two digs and two aces. Lisa Johnston had 21 kills, 20 digs and three blocks for Lodi, Jori Andrus added 14 kills, eight blocks and two digs and Trisha Hilder recorded 16 kills and 16 digs.
Galt spikers win
Galt High's varsity girls' volleyball cruised to a straight-sets win Tuesday over Luther Burbank high.

Lodi volleyball spikes Elk Grove
Lodi High's frosh-soph girls' volleyball team defeated Elk Grove on Tuesday, 15-11, 14-16, 15-3.
Monica Barba had 10 assists and four aces for the Flames, Brianna Woodyard added five kills and a block a block and Aimee Loebs recorded three digs, one block and one kill.
