Bob Johnson is busy campaigning for Lodi City Council as someone with new ideas, new energy, new leadership, independent of Lodi politics and a City Hall outsider.

This is a joke!

Bob Johnson is NOT "new" to Lodi politics or City Hall. He is part of the "Good Old Boy Network" and Lodi's Inner Circle. He is not at all "independent." If elected, he will be beholding to Lodi's power structure, and current and retired city employees with grievances against Dixon Flynn.

Mr. Johnson has served on the Lodi Parks and Recreation Commission for more than 16 years (April 1988 to the present). Bob was off the commission for 10 months (March 1998 to January 1999) when he was appointed to fill the City Council seat vacated by David Warner, a fellow member of the Lodi Tokay Rotary Club.

This is Bob Johnson's third attempt to be elected to the Lodi City Council. He was unable to get elected when running as an incumbent in 1998. Bob keeps talking about the contamination lawsuit but does not mention that he was a member of the City Council making the decisions about the litigation.

It appears that Mr. Johnson and his supporters are concerned that Dixon Flynn has received the endorsement of city employees and labor unions. Well, Bob, there is an old political adage that says if you cannot take their money, eat their food, drink their wine and look them in the eye and vote no, then you have no business in politics.
