Lodi's Patrick Armstrong recently had a perfect performance - and didn't even realize it.
The 11-year-old pitcher for Tony's Pizzeria tossed a perfect game, including 13 strikeouts, in a victory against the Mary Hill Giants. He didn't realize what he had accomplished until his father came onto the field and told him.
Armstrong also had a no-hitter and a one-hitter to his credit this season.
Family: Mark and Teresa Armstrong, parents; two sisters, one brother.
Favorite sport: Basketball.
"It's exciting because you're always running and never stop," Armstrong said.
Favorite athlete: Boston Red Sox shortstop Nomar Garciaparra.
"He plays all the time, hustles and makes great plays."
Favorite hobby: Armstrong enjoys playing basketball with his friends.
Favorite subject: Science. "I get to do experiments and study the earth," Armstrong said.
Would like to meet: Sacramento Kings center Vlade Divac. Armstrong said he would like to see how tall Divac is next to him.
Crowning achievement: The perfect game.
"I didn't know I had a perfect game until my dad told me. I was excited. My teammates were jumping on me," Armstrong said.
Future plans: Armstrong hopes to be a professional baseball or basketball player.
He'd like to attend Duke University or the University of Texas.
