As co-chair of Citizens for a New High School, the Galt High School District bond committee, I want to thank the Galt community for approving Measure B. Many people made a tremendous effort and dedicated countless hours working to pass the bond. This dedication reflects their commitment to our children and the Galt community. The community will now have the long overdue second high school to alleviate the overcrowding at Galt High. These children are our future and they deserve the best education we can give them.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the bond committee members. All these people spent many nights and weekends during the past five months working on the campaign. I would like to congratulate and recognize them for their outstanding effort. They should be very proud of their accomplishment. Leo VanWarmerdam as co-chair, Krista Lopes for coordinating the phone banks, Scott Lethbridge, Vic Cadena, Tami Frizzell, Dana Garrett, Doug Brown, Reuven Epstein, Orvell Flectcher, Ron Dameron, Steve Gardner, Carrie Maylum, Kathleen Amos, Father Jerry Ryle and Carlina Stewart.

I also want to thank Tom Gemma and Darlene Waddle who spent their off time working on the committee and campaign effort. I would like to thank all the PTAs and the four elementary school districts for their help and support.

I want to thank all the campaign volunteers, especially Kellie Fisher and Susana Flores and the Galt High students, who made this a viable effort by making thousands of phone calls and going door-to-door to inform and remind voters to vote on Measure B. You did a great job!

Many local businesses and groups provided their support to the committee. I would like to thank Connell Lindh, Randy Olsen at BMD for allowing us to use their offices, Darla VanWarmerdam for providing meals to the volunteers, Dan and Toni Gerling at Express Type and Graphics for providing printing services, the Galt District Chamber of Commerce, SVOC and Café Latte. I want to also thank the many other businesses and individuals for their generous cash contributions.

My sincerest apology to anyone I may have forgotten to thank and recognize.

One last special thanks to all the families of the bond committee members, especially my wife Karin and my three kids, for their understanding and support during the past five months.
