Local students win awards at drafting contest

Students from Lodi, Tokay and Bear Creek high schools took home numerous gold and silver medals at the recent Skills USA/Vocational Industrial Clubs of America competition in Manteca.

Gold medal winners in the Architectural Drafting Combination and Technical Drafting Combination are guaranteed entry to the VICA state contest, said Pal Guthrie, Lodi High drafting instructor.

The state competition will be held April 10 to 13 in Riverside. The national championships will be held June 26 in Kansas City, Mo.
